Australian Vail Ski Trip: Ideal Nights & Car-Free Stay
By Patrick W. Davis, Director of Sales & Marketing
How Many Nights Should You Spend in Vail From Australia?
Seven to 10 nights is a sensible planning range for the journey from Australia. For travelers planning a ski trip to Vail from Australia, 10 nights offers generous flexibility. It creates room for arrival recovery, several ski days, a flexible rest or village day, and a more measured departure.
A stay of 10 nights supports a settled condominium base. You can unpack once and enjoy a relaxed rhythm, using a full kitchen for selected meals and moving easily between your residence, the lift and Vail Village. This approach also reduces the need for daily transfers or changes of accommodation during a long-haul trip.
Build a Car-Free Vail Ski Trip Around Golden Peak
A car-free stay is practical when your accommodation places the lift, Vail Village, ski services and local transportation within reach. Arrange the main parts before leaving Australia, particularly your airport transfer, equipment and first grocery order.
Arrive in Vail Without a Rental Car
Eagle County Regional Airport is about a 40-minute drive from the lodge. Denver is about 100 miles east and typically takes 1.5 to 2 hours via I-70. Check the current flight schedule at flyege.com.
Confirm a pre-arranged transfer that matches your arrival time, passenger count, luggage and ski bags. Guest Services can help book transportation, and group shuttle rates are available through shuttle companies such as Epic Mountain Express. After a long journey, keep your first evening easy and your first morning unhurried.
Walk, Ride and Organize Your Ski Days
Manor Vail Lodge is at the base of Golden Peak, a five-minute walk from Vail Village and steps from the Riva Bahn Express lift at Chair 6. The property is not ski-in/ski-out.

The lodge offers complimentary in-town shuttle service, and the Town of Vail free in-town bus is nearby.
- Arrival: Book the airport transfer before departure and confirm space for every bag.
- Equipment: Reserve rentals or lessons before traveling. Guest Services can point you to the Vail Sports shop at Golden Peak and our rental partner, rentskis.com/manorvail.
- Food: Arrange an initial grocery order or shop around arrival, then use the residence kitchen for selected meals.
- Local mobility: Combine walking with the lodge shuttle and in-town buses. Keep one non-ski day flexible for town activities or weather changes.
Why a Two-Bedroom Condominium Works for a 10-Night Ski Stay
Manor Vail Lodge is a luxury condominium lodge at the base of Golden Peak. It suits families and small groups seeking more space and a stable, walkable base for a longer stay. For longer stays, see our long term stays page.
The lodge has 90 residences. Studios and one-bedroom residences are about 700 square feet, while two-bedroom and three-bedroom residences are about 1,400 square feet and have three bathrooms. Every residence includes a full kitchen, gas fireplace, private balcony or patio, and private ski locker. You can review the accommodation types and residence details before selecting a layout.
For a 10-night stay, the kitchen makes breakfasts, snacks and selected dinners easier to manage. The living area gives the group space between ski days, while the private ski locker keeps equipment organized. A fireplace and outdoor balcony or patio also make the condominium feel like a comfortable home base rather than a short overnight stop.
Two heated outdoor pools and four heated hot tubs are shared by all guests and open year-round. Penthouse 454 has its own outdoor jacuzzi.
Ski valet at Chair 6 is complimentary for all guests. A daily hot breakfast buffet is included for registered guests. A resort service fee applies in addition to the room rate and includes Wi-Fi, spa and fitness access, in-room coffee and tea, local phone, lobby coffee and cookies, and newspapers. ADA accessible rooms are available. Call the front desk at +1 970.476.5000 to confirm your needs.
