Manor Vail Lodge ‘Little Free Library’ Grand Opening

A Small Front Yard Book Exchange

The front yard book exchanges number 36,000 around the world in 70 countries – from Iceland to Tasmania to Pakistan. Now, a new Little Free Library has come to town, making this the fifth one to join the Vail Community. Located on the Vail bike path, the Little Free Library at Manor Vail Lodge has joined the movement to share books, bring people together and create a neighborhood of readers.

Manor Vail Lodge celebrated its Grand Opening on Friday, September 28 with owners, employees and guests. The Manor Vail Lodge Little Free Library was carefully hand painted by its very own team member and talented artist, Liz Filipowicz. You will notice that the artfully decorated Little Free Library highlights the beauty of Vail on each side including, the beautiful wildlife, summer flowers and of course, skiing.

“Our Little Free Library is placed in an area on the Vail bike path at Manor Vail Lodge that allows the entire community as well as hotel guests passing through to leave a book or take a book,” say General Manager, Bob McCleary. “It is our hope that the Little Free Library will provide a little something extra to the Vail Valley. We invite all those that take a book and are looking for some quality reading time and space to join us in our gardens or outside on the Fitz Bar & Restaurant patio.”

The Little Free Library nonprofit organization has been honored by the Library of Congress, the National Book Foundation, and the American Library Association, and Reader’s Digest named them one of the “50 Surprising Things We Love about America.” Each year, nearly 10 million books are shared in Little Free Libraries.
