Escape the hassle of the parking structures and experience the convenience of parking at the base of Vail Mountain across the street from Chair 6, at Vail Ski School & Nursery. During the summer months enjoy our Vail ski hotel's close proximity to the Betty Ford Alpine Gardens, Ford Park and Ford Amphitheater.

While Vail Mountain is well known as one of the best ski/snowboard resorts in the world, you may decide to take a break from Vail, Colorado skiing to try one of the other fantastic winter activities at our resort. In addition to world class skiing, snowboarding, telemark, and cross-country skiing, Vail also offers:
Play in the afternoon and well into the night at Adventure Ridge with ski bikes, kids snowmobile track, a slippery slope of rip-roaring tubing lanes and more. A snow park the size of a football stadium on top of the mountain. The gondola runs from breakfast till night. Drink hot chocolate and watch the sun set over the bowls.

Vail Mountain is accessed by three base areas: Lionshead, Vail Village, and Golden Peak. Manor Vail Lodge is located adjacent to Golden Peak. Lionshead is home to the Eagle Bahn Gondola and Born Free Express (Chair 8). Mountain access out of Vail Village is via Vail's new state of the art gondola, "One".
Golden Peak is home to the Riva Bahn Express (Chair 6), accessing the Terrain Park and Northwoods Chair 11, as well as the race course. Also at Golden Peak is Chair 12, the Gopher Hill Ski School beginner lift. Additionally, equipment rentals, a nursery school, Spanish speaking assistance and special needs information are available.

The Front Side of Vail is home to the most groomed terrain on the planet. Wide, long runs such as Riva Ridge, Born Free, Simba, Lodge pole, and Bear Tree are popular. Vail’s Golden Peak has one of the best training facilities in the world for Alpine Skiing and Snowboard training. By using Vail’s state of the art snowmaking system, training is able to begin on Golden Peak in early November each year. Manor Vail Lodge and Golden Peak area host guest teams from around the world for exceptional early season training. By mid-November each year, you can find the best World Cup ski racers from around the world, including the US Ski Team, and other powerhouse nations taking advantage of our world class training venue in preparation for the World Cup season. In addition to the alpine facilities at Golden Peak, you will find a skier and snowboarder training course, halfpipe training and a mogul course. Just outside of the Golden Peak training arena, Vail Resorts maintains a top level terrain park with a variety of jumps and features for all abilities, as well as a 22’ halfpipe.
